Flicked.io is a free browser game. This page explains what information we collect when you play, what we use it for, and how you can delete it. In short: we only collect what the game needs to work.
What we collect
You can play as a guest without an account: your settings and daily history stay in your browser and are never sent to us. If you create an account, we collect the following data:
- Account details: your email address, your display name and your password (stored only as a one-way hash, never as text).
- Gameplay: your runs and results, such as scores, hits, accuracy and reaction times, plus your coin balance and the skins you buy with your coins: what you paid for each and which one you use. For daily and challenge runs we also keep a recording of your shots and aim, which our server uses to verify scores and keep the competition fair. We may also use these recordings to make videos of runs, as described below.
- Multiplayer: if you play against other players, the rooms you make or join and the matches you play: who played, who won, each player's score and hits, and a recording of the shots. The player you face sees your display name, badges, peak rank and the weapon skin you carry; anyone looking at the room list sees your display name while your room is open or its match is being played. Playing a match keeps a live connection to our game server for as long as it lasts.
- Badges: the badges you earn. For the ones you don't have yet, we keep track of what counts towards them: the map variations you've played on, the ranks you've reached and which of your results you've shared. We also keep running totals of your hits, games played and coins earned.
- Settings: your sensitivity, mouse DPI, crosshair, target color, left-hand mode, sound and game mode preferences, so they follow you between devices.
- Daily reminder: if you turn it on, the address your browser gives us for its notifications, your time zone and the hour you picked. The notification goes through your browser maker's push service (Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft), encrypted so only your browser can read it. Turning the reminder off or logging out on that browser deletes them.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser type, used to keep you signed in, prevent abuse and protect accounts.
For every visit, with or without an account, we also count page views and measure how fast pages load: which page, where you came from, your browser, device type and country. This uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't follow you from site to site. The game itself also counts when it loads, when a game starts and finishes (and in which mode), and when it runs too slowly in your browser. These are only totals per day: nothing in them identifies you, and nothing about your computer is sent. To count a page load or a slow game once a day, your browser keeps the date it was last counted.
How we use it
We use this data to run the game: to sign you in, save your progress, calculate and verify scores, email you to confirm your address or reset your password, and keep the service secure. We also count totals, such as sign-ups and games played per day, to see how the game is doing. Your display name, badges and scores may appear on public leaderboards and on your public profile, which shows your best rank, your last ten ranked dailies and the skin you use. Anyone can open a run listed there to see its full result. Each day's top 15 (display name, score and difficulty) is also posted in our Discord community, and so is the news when a video of your run goes up. If you share a result, anyone with the link can see it along with your display name and badges. We count each share in a daily total that isn't linked to your account. Until you earn the Generous badge, we also note which of your results you've shared. We don't sell your personal data, and we share it only with the providers that host the game, deliver its emails and notifications, and post our videos and Discord messages. Ads come from Google, which collects some data itself, as described in Ads below. We keep your data for as long as you have an account.
We may also use your runs as marketing material. If you play with an account, we may turn one of your runs into a video that shows how you played, with your display name and score, and post it on our website and our social media accounts, such as Instagram. You can turn this off in Settings, and then we won't pick your runs for a video. If you delete your account, we stop using your runs. A video or message we have already posted stays up unless you ask us to take it down.
Ads
Flicked.io is free to play and may show ads to pay for its running costs. Ads appear only outside of play, never during a run. They come from Google AdSense, an advertising service run by Google.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
To pick which ads to show, count them and catch fraud, Google and its partners may collect your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you're on and an identifier saved in a cookie. Your browser sends this to them directly, and Google's privacy policy covers what they do with it. We don't give them your email address, your account or your scores.
You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings, and for other vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. You will still see ads, but they won't be based on your interests. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where the law requires it, for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, advertising cookies are used only with your consent.
Your choices
You can delete your data at any time with the button below. If you're signed in, it permanently deletes your account and everything we store about it. If you're not, it clears the game data saved in this browser.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to have it corrected by writing to support@flicked.io. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The game is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions? Write to support@flicked.io.
